Directions to Kidsgrove Leisure CentreComing from Stoke/NewcastleGet yourself onto the A34 heading north (either straight up from Newcastle town centre or via the A500 D road). Follow the A34 into the village of Talke - as you hit the 30mph limit sign, SLOW RIGHT DOWN – there’s a speed camera there that really means business. At the cross roads with traffic lights, turn right, following signs for A34 to Macclesfield and Manchester. Go down the hill into the village of Butt Lane and at the traffic lights, turn right onto Cedar Avenue (B5371). Keep going along here; it becomes First Avenue. You will pass Second Avenue on your left, then (in a strange insight into the alternative numeracy of town planners) Fifth Avenue. The next left, in continued defiance of normal counting, is Fourth Avenue. Turn up here for Kidsgrove Sports Centre. Coming from the South I (M1 & A50):Follow the A50 beyond the Stoke City Football Stadium, where you’ll hit a roundabout. You should turn right here to take you on to the A500 toward Stoke. Stay on the A500 until you reach the A34 turning (about 5 miles). When you reach the A34 turning, head North toward Kidsgrove and Congleton. Follow instructions as above, “Coming from Stoke/Newcastle”. Coming from the South II (M6):Turn off the M6 at junction 16. Head towards Stoke on the A500 (about three miles), until you get to the turn off for A34. You want to head North on the A34 towards Kidsgrove and Congleton. Follow instructions as above, “Coming from Stoke/Newcastle”. Coming from the North (M6 or A34):If you’re arriving on the M6, just follow the instructions for “Coming from the South II – M6” above. Or, if you’re coming from Manchester, you may want to come straight down the A34 South. Stay on A34 through Alderley Edge and Congleton. You eventually head into the village of Church Lawton, and reach a big crossroads (usually with road works) where the A34 intersects the A50. Go straight on, over the canal and into the village of Butt Lane. Turn left at the traffic lights by the closed down snooker club, into Cedar Avenue (B5371).
