Need a fix? If you're so desperate for useless facts and figures, you should really go and see a psychiatrist. But as it's so unlikely that you will, a few links are given in the table below and the line above.
Most of these pages are still being developed (much of the info in the tables was entered on a "best guess" basis).
If you can correct any of the details, or fill in any of the gaps, please contact Another Anorak
(or, better still, go and see that psychiatrist).

The Rise and Fall of Castle 1 (2001-2005)

Due to it's severe ill-health, Castle 1 was renamed Castle-Zero in the Summer of 2005, and was subsequently abandoned and left to die. Castle 2 quickly grabbed the abandoned Castle 1 title (perhaps it should now be called Newcastle 1?), and hopes to prosper appropriately in the future. A spokesman for Castle Korfball Club offerred the following comments on July 1st, 2005...

It is with great regret that Castle Korfball Club has to announce the death of its first team. Castle 1 passed away quietly during the Summer of 2005, following a virulent but mercifully short-lasting form of altitude sickness that they are rumoured to have picked up “down south” during the previous season. Despite desperate attempts to keep the squad alive, only four of last season’s team could be rescued. Three of these have been positively identified as Jon A, Gill and Mary, and are presently undergoing major surgery in the hope that they can be rehabilitated into the old Castle 2 squad. The fourth survivor bears some resemblance to Jon H, but is suffering from serious complications that could well last for at least 21 years. Looking on the positive side of these events, Castle 2 is pleased to announce that it has found a new name, and three bonus players.
