Castle Korfball Club's Summer Tournament
Castle is holding their annual summer tournie on the 4th of July at Crewe Vagrants Sports Club, the same fantastic venue as last year. The Tournament will be on astroturf so there will be no muddy kit to take home if the heavens do open!
Snacks and drinks will be available through out the day, and at the lunch break various competitions will take place (welly wanging may make a come back...) After a hard days korfing, the BBQ will come out and the drinks will flow until the wee hours of sunday morning! Free camping is available on both friday and saturday nights so there is no need to miss out on any of the evenings fun!

Welcome to Castle Korfball Club Online. We are a fun, friendly club who are always on the look out for new players. If you want to play competitively or just keep fit then we would like to hear from you.
Korfball is a ball sport played by mixed teams (four men and four women per team). If you imagine crossing basketball and netball you've got a fair idea of what korfball looks like, but it's quite distinct from both. It's fast moving, skilful, non-contact and very much dependent on teamwork. Click here for a short introduction from the English Korfball Association, or here for a neat one- page summary courtesy of our friends at Korfball New Zealand. Put simply, Korfball is great.
Castle Korfball Club
Castle Korfball Club was founded in 1996, and is based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, in sunny Staffordshire.
We train on Wednesday evenings at Keele University Leisure Centre, and we presently have three teams that play weekend games in local and regional korfball leagues. Most of our home games are played at Kidsgrove Leisure Centre.
We currently have around 30 members, and are always looking for new recruits, so if you're interested, read on.

Fancy having a go?
New members and beginners are always welcome. Only a handful of our players had played korfball before joining Castle, so a lot of the coaching is pitched with new players in mind. You'll be surprised how quickly you learn! Your first few training sessions are completely free of charge, and then full membership is available at very reasonable prices. Please contact Ruth on 07709 337693, or email anyone on our contacts page for more information. Alternatively, if you don't fancy training just yet, you'd be very welcome to come and watch one of our games to get a better idea of what korfball is all about. Get in touch with us and we'll meet up with you beforehand to explain the rules. We're also an extremely sociable club: we keep the local pubs in business after training, and arrange many other events.
